This is a Forward Ladies event.
In Leeds, as in virtually every city, the Council is by far and away the biggest single purchaser of services. Councils are now obliged to do more than ever to source goods/services from small to medium sized enterprises in the private sector. In short, the Council could be your biggest customer. Yet many businesses find dealing with the Council too difficult and, as a result, look elsewhere for custom.
The message you want to deliver may not be the message your potential customers receive.
This is an interactive workshop that will benefit any current or would be business owner who wants to get ahead of the competition. Enthusiastic feedback in May means that this workshop is being run again in York and Leeds.

By attending this seminar you can understand what you are doing now, and in particular, discovering where the gaps might be. Then identify what you could be doing to close the gaps, and become more effective at selling.
This event is your chance to hear from our guest speaker Jo Haigh, a partner and Head of Corporate Finance for MGR and a partner in the fds Group, a specialist training and development business.

The next Business Network event in West Yorkshire is on Wednesday 12 August 2009 at Weetwood Hall.
The last two August events have been extremely well attended and this year I am expecting between 80 and 100 businesses at this event.
The sessions - Each session will last about 1 hour.
Session 1 - Dealing with suppliers, looking at costings
This session will look at suppliers’ costs up to EXW. We will then examine how it may be possible to reduce these and ensure there are no hidden costs. Different terms of payment will be examined to compare the true price of each and effect on cashflow. Conducted by: Mike Strawson
Is your company interested in securing contracts within the Public Sector? However, do you feel that this is a market in which you cannot compete? If you don’t know how to start, this two hour seminar will show you exactly how.
We will dispel the myths associated with Public Sector e-procurement and guide you through the technicalities of the process. Armed with the knowledge of how to promote your business directly to key decision makers you will leave the seminar feeling confident that you have opened a door to real revenue growth for your company.
Following the success of the OpenCoffee networking events we have held in Bradford, Sheffield and Barnsley bmedi@ are running another event on Thursday 20th August 2009 in Bradford.
The emphasis of OpenCoffee is very much on the internet and new media industries etc. These free events are informal and see a range of technology entrepreneurs, designers, bloggers, developers, geeks, investors and anyone else who's interested in digital media and technology exchanging ideas and striking up relationships that would otherwise never have flourished.
Are you looking for a fresh approach to networking? This event offers you the opportunity to take a real hands on approach to networking, whilsthaving fun at the same time.
